Leighton R. Longhi is a graduate of Yale University, where he majored in Japanese and Chinese civilization. He has been a dealer in Japanese and Eastern art since 1971, having dealt extensively with Eastern and Western institutions, museums and private collections.
He is President of JADA (Japanese Art Dealers Association)
, which he co-founded in 2002. He is a Trustee of the Indianapolis Museum of Art, a Fellow in perpetuity of the Cleveland Museum of Art and a Sterling Fellow of Yale University. He has loaned Japanese art to museum exhibitions worldwide. He was instrumental in the organization of the show “Zen”, held at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco in 2001, a show rated the #1 Asian Art Show of the year by the Art Newspaper.
Leighton R. Longhi, Inc. Oriental Fine Arts, founded in 1971, is a private gallery that is open by appointment only. It specializes in fine antique screens, paintings, sculptures and ceramics.
